At a glittering function held last night at the Advait Centre in Wembley to celebrate the launch, a special memento was presented to chief guest Shailesh Vara by Dheeraj Kapuria, head of International Operations, Zee Network to congratulate him on becoming the first Asian Gujarati MP in the House of Commons. "In my family Zee Network takes precedence over the current affairs programmes" Vara revealed in his speech. Vara confirmed that his parents are already glued to Zee Gujarati.
Among those who attended the function were singer Nirmal Udhas, the brother of well know singer Pankaj Udhas, Pravinbhai Amin, the president of National Congress of Gujarati Associations in the UK and C.B.Patel, publisher of Gujarat Samachar besides other journalists and dignitaries.

The Gujarati community in the UK has been delighted with the arrival of Zee Gujarati, the fifth channel to be launched by Zee Network. In a survey conducted by the channel, businessmen and community leaders have welcomed the launch saying it will strengthen community links. The launch was supported by an advertising campaign in London’s underground, bus stops in Leicestershire (a Gujarati stronghold), radio stations across the UK and the regional press, besides an ongoing campaign in all Zee channels.
Zee Gujarati has already managed to gain a loyal audience in India and is the most popular Gujarati channel since its launch five years ago. Zee Gujarati showcases judicious news and festival centric programmes like Navartri, mix of classic and contemporary programming including current affairs, news, talk shows, serials, movies and much much more.
