Televisionpoint.com Team Hanuman, a cherubic icon of the Hindu pantheon and a superhero of the country's first full-length animation film, Hanuman is set to release. Sahara One Motion Pictures, Percept Picture Company in association with Silvertoons will release it on October 21. The 90-minute animated feature, took 250 artists from animation firm Silvertoons, two years to develop the 200,000 individual images that make up the money king's tale.
The company has generated buzz prior the launch, these ground level promotions should stir up interest among potential adult movie goers, who have traditionally shunned animation movies. Apart from his mythological relevance, Hanuman's brand attributes like fearlessness, loyalty, dedication, and superhuman strength are such that they cut across all age groups, states an official release.
"Animation has always been viewed as kids stuff, but Hanuman has the complete package of songs, storyline and excellent animation that will make it engrossing, inspirational entertainment for both, kids and grown-ups alike. Hanuman will provide fans of animation a whole new entertainment experience." Shantonu Aditya, CEO, Sahara One says.
This film has been directed by animation guru VG Samant. With painstaking efforts across a period of two years, Samant created over 200,000 individual images along with 40 individual characters for the film. He was backed by a vast creative team of cell animation artists. Hanuman has been recorded officially as India 's first indigenous animation film in the Limca Book of Records' 2004 edition. It is also for the first time that a film has been dedicated to this great Indian mythological hero, with rare insights into his personality and character.
Sahara expects Hanuman to be an ideal forum for adults to initiate their kids into Indian mythology. And while it remains to be seen if kids take to animated mythology, one thing that's sure to connect with young audiences is its contemporary soundtrack featuring six specially commissioned songs by pop stars like Shaan, Palash Sen and Shankar Mahadevan, including a 8-minute Hanuman Chalisa. |
