Dainik Jagran, the National Hindi daily has launched its 28th edition from Dharamshala today, October 24. The edition covers seven of the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh – Kangra, Kullu, Chamba, Mandi, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una. It joins Divya Himachal, which already has an edition in Dharamshala for the past few years.

Elaborating on the launch, Sanjay Gupta, CEO and Editor, Dainik Jagran, says, "Being the only National Hindi daily to be published from Dharamshala, we will leverage this to reach out to readers with detailed and updated news, unlike other newspapers. Before launching the edition, our own inter-functional task force, which includes our editorial, brand and circulation departments, tried to understand the need gaps and the aspirations of the people in order to deliver a newspaper that understands and addresses the needs and aspirations of the people of Himachal Pradesh."

He also claims that Dainik Jagran is having an superior advantage of reaching out to readers with detailed and updated news, as it is published from Dharamshala. The Dharamshala edition has 20 pages in the main edition, with a four-page city supplement called Jagran City catering to Dharamshala and sub-editions in Kangra, Una, Chamba, Mandi, Bilaspur and Kullu.

The Dharamshala edition will begin with a print run of 50,000 copies and the cover price will be preset according to industry trends. 'Dainik Jagran' will use multimedia campaigns to promote the edition. The promotional campaign will be launched in multiple phases – pre-launch, launch and post-launch, an official communiqué informs.
