Kishore Sharma - Televisionpoint.com In a strategic deal Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, United Television and Adlabs promoted Entertainment One have joined hands for the worldwide distribution of three forthcoming Ramesh Sippy films, Bluffmaster, Taxi No 9211 and Rooh.
Speaking about the alliance producer Ramesh Sippy said, "The purpose of the tie-up is to make the maximum use of the expertise and to channel it in the right direction.
Since I have had years of experience, I will be looking into the creative aspect of filmmaking, Entertainment one will be responsible for the strategic and organisational funding required to make a film and UTV will take care to see that the film hits the theatres through proper promotion and marketing."
Sippy added, "The film industry is going through a lot of changes. There are different kinds of films being made. Hence, it has become necessary in today's time that there be different departments to look minutely into the varied facets of filmmaking."
When asked why Sippy Films failed to form a strategic alliance earlier like filmmakers Yash Chopra and Ram Gopal Varma already had, Ramesh Sippy replied, "Better late than never. May be this is the right time for me to do so."
Sippy also defended his decision of having sold the worldwide distribution rights of all the three films to one company by saying, "Nothing is safe in the business whether you have made one film or three. The process selling the rights of a single film then waiting for the results of the film at the box-office and then finding other distributors for other two films was not practical."
So the next six months will see the release of three films from the house of Ramesh Sippy Entertainment which Ramesh Sippy goes on to describe as, "Entertainment of different genres. Bluffmaster, might sound as if it is a comedy film, but it has some serious undertones to it. Taxi No 9211 is about how two strangers, played by Nana Patekar and John Abraham, are compelled to travel in the same taxi and how during the course of interaction between them, they realise that the opposite person is a reflection of his own personality. Rooh stars all newcomers. It is a film with a lot of twists and turns that will leave the audience baffled and waiting to know the suspense." |
