A new Urdu newspaper, Etemad, will be launched today, December 19, today in Andhra Pradesh. The MIM, which has been in the thick of war of words with Urdu dailies Munsif and Siasat, has put its might behind Etemad.

Its chief editor is Burhanuddin Owaisi, the third son of MIM supremo Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi and its office is located at the MIM headquarter, Darus Salam. Though the senior editorial staff maintains that Ete-mad would be 'independent' observers said that it would be a mouthpiece of the MIM. Most of its staff has been allegedly 'poac-hed' from Siasat and Munsif.

The newspaper will be launched by Hazrat Shah Agha Abu Dawood Abul Ulayee, a leading murshid who is also the uncle of the MIM supremo. The senior Owaisi will preside over the inaugural in which Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and the leaders of the TRS, CPI and the CPI-M have been invited.
