M&C Saatchi India after scooping the VLCC Personal Care account, previously handled by JWT, has added two new accounts to mark the beginning of the year, and has also appointed a new creative team.

The agency, which began operations in mid-2005, was recently awarded the new briefs for a new luminous inverter brand from SAR Silicon Systems and a cigarette brand Jaisalmer from GPI.

According to M&C Saatchi India chairman and CEO Kamal Oberoi, all of the accounts moved following credentials presentations, with VLCC and Luminous accounts woth approximately Rs 10 crore (Rs 7 crore for VLCC).

Meanwhile, the agency has also hired Vaybhav Singh and Swami Anand Tirth to take on the roles of creative directors. Singh arrives from Saatchi & Saatchi, while Tirth was previously at Ogilvy & Mather.

"This highly committed and energised duo has been behind some of the outstanding work seen on brands like Hutch, Hyundai, Gillette and Seagrams," says M&C Saatchi India executive creative director Abhinav Dhar.
