Tourism in India, Very Incredible

Televisionpoint.com Correspondent Tourism in India has gained new grounds during last two years not only in the number of tourist arrivals but also in international projection of India as ideal destination and in infrastructure development, according to the tourism and culture ministry. This was part of the ministry's two-yearly appraisal of their achievements under the UPA government regime.
Several international tourism bodies and magazines have listed India amongst the top tourism destinations in the world. Travel guide Lonely Planet has selected India amongst the top five destinations from 167 countries.
Other top travel guides, Condenast Traveller and i-explore, have also ranked India amongst top five preferred destinations in world. The Association of British Travel Agency has ranked India as No. 1 amongst top 50 places for 2006. Listing its achievements, the tourism ministry pointed out that the 'Incredible India' campaign has been the winner of the PATA gold Award for best print ad campaign and the PATA Gold Award for best destination campaign.
Thea campaign has been ranked as the highest recall advertisement worldwide and has been given the Jury Award by Travelution, Netherlands, for the best advertising campaign for 2004. TTG Asia has ranked the department of tourism as best National Tourism Organisation. |
