| Friday - Jun 09, 2006 |
Televisionpoint.com Correspondent Dentsu Inc. has announced that it, together with 49 of its Group companies in Japan, had obtained integrated ISO14001:2004 certification on June 5, 2006.
As part of this program, Dentsu previously developed its own Environmental Policy and introduced Dentsu's environmental management system, the Dentsu Eco Program. To further reinforce the CSR activities of the Dentsu Group as a whole, Dentsu then went on to establish and implement a Dentsu Group Eco Program including all 49 of its domestic Group companies.
In May 2005, Dentsu obtained ISO 14001 certification on a non-consolidated basis. After an expanded inspection, Dentsu has now received integrated ISO14001:2004 certification for the Group as a whole. Having received this certification, Dentsu and each of its Group companies in Japan will continue contributing to environmental improvement through a variety of activities, primarily by developing communications services and proposals that are environmentally sound.
For the record, ISO14001 is an international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization for the purpose of improving the environment. ISO14001 prescribes basic standards for environmental management systems, and ISO14001 certification is acquired when a certifying body verifies that a company has established an environmental management system that complies with the ISO14001 standards, and that the system is being implemented appropriately. |
