Amrita TV shines at Kerala Government awards

'Chithrasalabham' telecast by Amrita TV has won the Kerala State Government's award for best Teleseries in 2006. Amrita TV topped the award list, winning 11 awards in all, followed by Jeevan TV with eight. Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs M.A. Baby announced the awards.

The jury members observed that most of the tele-serials received as entries followed storylines that were "unnatural and unbelievable." In the Tele-film category, however, there were "flashes of hope" in some of the entries. In the case of non-fiction category, the jury found that the entries maintained excellent standard. These entries truthfully reflected the social, cultural and political developments in the State, according to the jury members.
