Televisionpoint.com Correspondent Alliance Group, the Rs 4,400-crore Bangalore-based real estate developer, has announced the plans to launch a 24-hour 'Real Estate TV' channel dedicated to the real estate industry next month. According to Manoj Namburu, CMD of Alliance Group, the channel is being launched with an investment outlay of Rs 100 crore and would be based in Bangalore. Real Estate TV will telecast 16 top of the hour 'Realty Check' programmes live in English everyday. "The channel, when launched, will provide updates on all aspects of real estate, including infrastructure, to viewers in India, the south and south-east Asian region and West Asia where there is a strong non-resident Indian (NRI) presence," he added. For the channel launch, the company has roped in media personality, Sashi Kumar, as its adviser and team comprises TK Vibhaker as COO. The main studio will be in Bangalore and the company is in the process of hiring media professionals in other metros. For information-gathering network, the company plans to set up news bureaus and studios in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Vibhaker, said, "The channel is expected to breakeven in a short time as there were 261 companies connected with the real estate industry, which in itself had now emerged as the largest advertiser. The free-to-air channel will be available on cable as well as the DTH platforms across the country." |
