Future Media, the media company of Future Group, in an aggressive sweep has picked up media rights of three players in the retail space – My Dollarstore, R-Mall in Mulund and Oberoi Mall in Kandivali. Future Media is in the business of creating media opportunities in spaces of consumption, within and outside the Future Group.

The deals include Future TV and Future Visual Spaces media properties that form part of Future Media's bouquet of offerings. Future TV, in-store television brand in the ambience of consumption, is aimed at converting footfalls into eyeballs through consumer engagement. Future Visual Space offers branding solutions across static visual spaces in the ambience of consumption, like facades, standees, kiosks, banners, floor stickers, elevator branding and show windows.

Partho Dasgupta, Managing director & CEO, Future Media (I) Ltd, said, "In little more than a year, we have acquired media rights of many key properties outside the Future Group. We are committed to providing our clients with media solutions across various spaces of consumption, be it malls, multiplexes, airports, or cafes, and these multiple acquisitions is a giant step in that direction."

Sankalp Retail Value Stores Pvt Ltd, the company running the My Dollarstore chain of stores across the country, assigned exclusive rights to Future Media to install and manage LCD screens within 41 stores. The screens would run Future TV, the in-store television network.

Speaking on the alliance, Saumitra Ghatak, CEO, My Dollarstore, said "Television screens, besides helping improve imagery within stores, are a great way of monetising vacant spaces. From the consumer point of view, they provide engagement by keeping them updated with the latest happenings like promotions and contests, discount schemes, etc. We are happy with the association with Future Media and hope to have a mutually beneficial partnership."

The deal with R Mall, a popular mall in Mumbai's Mulund area, is for displaying Future TV as well as Future Visual Spaces. R Mall has granted permission to Future Media for installing LCD screens, which would run the Future TV network, as well as for marketing of advertising spaces within mall premises, which fall in the Future Visual Spaces category. The deal also includes installation and manning of an indoor LED screen at the entrance of the mall.

Sandeep Runwal, Director, Runwal Group, said, "As retailers, we understand the potential in-store media like televisions and visual spaces hold. We have the consumer knowledge, which is crucial in providing media solutions to various brands. Our association with Future Media will help leverage it to the maximum."

Oberoi Mall, an upcoming mall in Kandivali area of Mumbai, has assigned exclusive rights to install and manage LCD screens across the property, which would run the Future TV network. The mall promises to be a landmark entertainment destination, housing various Indian and international brands as well as a PVR multiplex.
