Amrita TV, AIR to air Nehru Trophy Boat Race on August 9

Televisionpoint.com Correspondent | Thiruvantapuram Amrita TV, the Malayalam general entertainment channel, will telecast live the 56th Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2008 on August 9 from 2 pm.
Termed as India's Water Olympiad, the race has 1400-metre long track in the Punnamada Lake at Alappuzha. The channel will cover the event with seven cameras backed up by a 55-member crew team. More than a 1,00,000 spectators are expected at the venue.
All prime time news bulletins of Amrita TV have been carrying special news stories about the Nehru Trophy Race for the past one week. The live telecast will be interspersed with interesting facts about past boat races and special graphics to display the results of the race in every lane.
An Royal Pavilion has also been set up at the venue, and special seats have been snapped up by the tourists.
Meanwhile, the stations in Kerala of the AIR will also broadcast the running commentary of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. These stations will also broadcast the daily review of the Olympic Games from 8.30 a.m. till August 25. |
