    Bijoy Sreedhar is VP, business development, Lokmat Group

    Bijoy Sreedhar has joined as vice-president, business development, Lokmat Group. In his new role, he would be to lead the Group's initiatives in television, radio, OOH and the digital space and help transform the Group into a multi media player.

    Jwalant Swaroop, director, advertising and business development, Lokmat Group, said, "Bijoy brings with him a huge multimedia experience, which will be extremely valuable to us. He will be overseeing the businesses of our television, radio, OOH and digital ventures."

    "Lokmat, after having attained clear leadership in the print space in Maharashtra, has ambitious plans to become a leader with multimedia offerings under a unique brand called Destination Maharashtra, which will be a one-stop communication solution for all brand managers targeting Maharashtra." Swaroop adds.

    Earlier, Sreedhar was head, strategy and new business, Radio City. He joined Radio City as national sales head, retail, in 2005. Before Radio City, he has also worked with Tata Indicom and Indiamarkets.com.

    He is a post graduate in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and holds a Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering.

    The Lokmat Group plans to diversify into other media such as television, radio, the Internet and OOH. The company will enter the new businesses through acquisition and ownership of media properties, and also through strategic alliances.

    The group already has a joint venture with IBN for its 24X7 Marathi news channel, IBN Lokmat.
