    Rediffusion appoints Wasim Basir as group EVP

    Rediffusion | DYR has appointed Wasim Basir as group executive vice-president. His profile at Rediffusion has been freshly crafted to bolster the business orientation sense.

    In his new role, Basir will look after the agency's key businesses as well as new initiatives to build capabilities. Basir comes onboard from Red Lounge, a Coca-Cola venture in China, where he was managing director.

    Mahesh Chauhan, group CEO, Rediffusion | DYR, said, "Bringing Wasim on board has been a conscious and strategic decision to strengthen a very strong leadership team at the organization."

    Basir said, "I am happy that Rediffusion was keen to develop such a strategic and remarkable role for. It shows their ability to think ahead of the curve. Reinvention is the future of our industry; the sooner everyone realises this, the better off they will be. I am keen to work in a place which is high on adrenaline, potent in creativity, abuzz with opportunities and brings back to India."

    At Red Lounge, Basir was spearheading the Olympic efforts of brand Coca-Cola in China, consolidating internal Coca-Cola marketing teams with creative, interactive, activation, PR and media functions.
