Chandra meets David Morgan to remove ICL's rebel tag

    Wednesday - Oct 08, 2008
    Televisionpoint.com Correspondent | Mumbai
Labelled as rebels and their players banned and ridiculed by the BCCI and all other cricket bodies in the world, the Indian Cricket League (ICL) administrators have decided to say enough is enough.

ICL wants to rid itself of the rebels and pariah tag and hence Subhash Chandra, chairman and managing director, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, had a meeting with David Morgan, president, ICC, the custodians of the game, as to what is so not official about them?

Morgan said, "The ICL had written to the ICC requesting a meeting and today that meeting took place. I will now report back the contents of the meeting to the ICC Board, which is gathering in Dubai on October 14 and 15."

The meeting took place in a cordial manner in London and Chandra thanked Morgan and the other members of his group for attending. Chandra added his hope that when Morgan presented to the ICC Board it could find a resolution to the matter.

Speaking to Televisionpoint.com on the development, Himanshu Mody, business head, ICL, who was present at the meeting said, "The outcome of the meeting was positive. Very soon Morgan will present our case in front of the ICC board which meets in Dubai."

Other than Morgan and the other members of his group were ICC legal head David Becker and Jonathan Taylor of the international law firm of Bird and Bird.
