Turner Entertainment has appointed Ashish Thukral as marketing head, Cartoon Network and Pogo channels in South Asia. He moves from USL, where he was general manager, media, and was based in Bangalore.

Ashish joined Turner on September 22, 2008 and is based at Mumbai. He replaces Bikram Duggal at Turner and will now work closely with other network units such as advertising sales, Cartoon Network Enterprises, programming and creative services to drive awareness for Turner's properties.

Speaking to Televisionpoint.com, Ashish Thukral says, "Turner Entertainment has great plans ahead, a aggressive strategy and a great set of people. I along with the Turner's marketing team will provide strategic direction to both Cartoon Network and Pogo. My accountability has moved from USL's mind movements to broadcast media's ratings business."

In June 2008, Turner had lost its senior marketing team, which included Vivek Krishnani, executive director, marketing - APAC; Bikram Duggal and Karan Sethi, marketing manager, Cartoon Network - South Asia.

Apart from USL, Ashish has worked with Mindshare, Bangalore as business director.
