Televisionpoint.com Correspondent | New Delhi Anand Sharma, the minister of state for external affairs, has been given additional charge of the Information and Broadcasting ministry after Priyaranjan Dasmunsi was admitted to AIIMS following a severe heart attack last week.
Sharma would reply to questions related to the I&B ministry in Parliament. Although the ministry has a minister of state, M. H. Ambareesh, Sharma would look after it.

Sharma is a former AICC spokesperson. A product of the NSUI and Youth Congress who started his career as a student leader in Shimla in 1972, Sharma was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1984 and later in 2004. He was inducted into the union cabinet in 2006. |
