TBWA India appoints Rahul Sengupta as NCD

TBWA India has appointed Rahul Sengupta as national creative director. He will assume his new role from November 3, and is moving from Lowe, where he was executive creative director.

Shiv Sethuraman, chief executive officer, TBWA India Group, says, "Rahul is talented, ambitious and we have very similar ideas about the kind of agency we would like to build. More than anything, what convinced me was his track record of developing big, sustainable ideas on brands – a rare and dying talent in an industry obsessed with scams."

Sengupta has more than 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, with most of those years spent at Lowe. He began his career at Mudra (first in Bangalore and then in Mumbai) and then moved on to Lowe. He has worked on memorable campaigns such as Titan Fastrack, Tanishq, Indya.com, Maruti Alto, Parker Pens, Bajaj (Hoodibaba and Wind Biking), ICICI Prudential's Chintamani and Cadbury Schweppes' Sport Cola.

Keith Smith, president, TBWA International, says, "Hiring the best creatives is a big part of our global strategy and the very high standards that have been set in the Indian market means that we require the very best. Rahul is up there with them and we are looking for great things from him as we continue the rapid expansion of our business."

In recent months, TBWA India has won accounts such as Sony Playstation, GE Money Wizard, Titan Gold Plus, Polaris, Dabur Consumer Care, Planet M and Procall. The agency has six offices in India.
