    Network18 celebrates Prithvi Festival 2008

    Network 18 has joined hands with Prithvi Theatre to celebrate Prithvi Festival 2008, which would help viewers from around the country to be up to date on the happenings through special shows on CNBC-TV18, CNN-IBN, IBN7, CNBC-Awaaz and IBN-Lokmat.

    The festival would be from November 6 to November 16, and will feature 12 new productions, some of which will be premiering at the festival and will be supported by performances, discussions and lecture-demonstrations.

    CNBC TV18 will present the festival as a part of its High Life programming, which helps the viewers appreciate the finer things in life. A special show hosted by Sanjana Kapoor, director, Prithvi Theatre will showcase the highlights of the festival this year.

    Suresh Venkat, lifestyle editor, CNBC-TV18, said, "High Life is a platform for the informed viewer to enjoy some of those finer things. Each of our activities, from classical music, to world cinema to literary events are handpicked for our discerning viewers."

    Neel Chowdhury, VP, marketing, CNBC-TV18 and CNBC-Awaaz, said, "High Life has always aimed to provide quality content for its discerning viewers. This partnership with Prithvi for their annual flagship property is another endeavour in that direction to bring quality programming for our viewers."

    CNN-IBN will air the Sanjana Kapoor show on November 9 at 4:30 pm. In addition to the show, the channel will also showcase the curtain raiser story, chats and walk-through with the directors and actors, a daily report from the venues.

    Marathi actor Makarand Deshpande will take the viewers through the history of Prithvi Theatre and offering behind the scenes glimpses to IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat viewers. The show with be telecast on November 8 at 7 pm.
