Maneesh Pharmaceuticals has tied up with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) to market its Smyle range of baby care products under the Disney Baby brand.

The pharma company has entered into an licensing pact with DCP to develop, manufacture and market the entire Disney Baby care range of products for South Asia and India.

Disney stars like 'Winnie the Pooh and friends' and 'Mickey/Mini Mouse and friends' will adorn the Disney Baby range, which includes baby massage oil, soap, bath, shampoo, talc powder, lotion and wet wipes.

Vinay Sapte, managing director, Maneesh Pharmaceuticals, said, "The company has consistently leveraged its expertise across the entire value chain by providing the best of products in the OTC and FMHG range. The launch of Disney Baby care products is one step forward in providing the Indian market with a complete range of superior baby care products with the vision to provide active care for Gen-X active babies."

"Our vast experience of 20 years in manufacturing dermatological products and dedicated research and development, has boosted our confidence to enter this niche market, which is not explored to its fullest capacity." Sapte said.

Roshni Bakshi, regional director, DCP, said, "With this collaboration, we are combining the Disney magic with Maneesh Pharmaceutical's strengths in production and distribution to provide Disney Baby range of products that aim to meet the needs of discerning parents and their infants."

The Smyle brand has pan-India presence at all major chemists and retail outlets and commands high recall and brand equity in the market place. Since the realignment under the Svizera umbrella in 2007, the Smyle brand recorded a phenomenal 300 per cent growth in revenues within the first six months of operations.
