TV Today Q2 net profit at Rs 7.57 crore

TV Today Network has announced its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. The net profit grew 41.49 per cent at Rs 7.57 crore from the corresponding period a year ago.

The company, which operates four news channels including Aaj Tak and Headlines Today, had net profit of Rs 5.35 crore for the September quarter last fiscal. Total income rose to Rs 66.89 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 46.42 crore for the same period last year.

While, for the six months ended September 30, it posted a net profit of Rs 16.75 crore against Rs 13.34 crore for the same period last year.

"We will continue to look at growth path. We will look at ways of looking at any opportunities to launch channels. The growth was mainly driven by Aaj Tak, which saw its market share over its nearest rival rise to 9 percent in the latest quarter from 6 percent in year ago period." G.
