Pepsi ropes in Kareena Kapoor to endorse Frito-Lay

Sumedha Srivastav - Televisionpoint.com | Mumbai PepsiCo India named Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor as the brand ambassador for its snack food products. Kapoor will join the gang of celebrity ambassadors comprising Saif Ali Khan, Juhi Chawla and Mahendra Dhoni.
"We are proud to welcome Kareena Kapoor into the PepsiCo family. Kareena's vibrant personality, pan-India appeal and confidence makes her a great fit for our brands," said Deepika Warrier, marketing director, Frito-Lay.
Pepsi has signed Kapoor for three years. As a part of the new campaign, she would be seen starring in a new television commercial that will go on air by mid-November 2008 on major television channels. The new campaign would also include radio and outdoor promotions including on-ground activities.
With this new brand tie up, Kapoor now is the brand face of several top brands. Some of the major brands, which have signed up the actor, include ITC for its Vivel soap, Airtel and Head & Shoulders.
The Indian snacks market, which is estimated to be worth about Rs 2,500 crore, has been growing at a rate of 20 per cent year-on-year. Pepsi recently has also launched sub-brands of Kurkure, such as Kurkure Desi Beats in two flavours. |
