    Percept launches entertainment website Cinecurry.com

    Percept Ltd, an entertainment and media company, has launched Cinecurry.com, which aims to provide entertainment news from Bollywood, Hollywood and other regional Indian cinema. The website has sections like Movies, Audio, Photos, Videos, ClubCurry, Celebzone and Curry Reels.

    Cinecurry.com will offer movie reviews for current and forthcoming movies, and also aims to develop a strong database of cinema talent including actors and celebrities. The new website also has Web 2.0 features, as it provides a social networking platform for movie buffs, with video and mobile blogging features.

    Viraj Malik, managing director, Percept Knorigin, says, "Cinecurry caters to the popular genres of cinema watched in India and provides a unique community setting with the right content. Unlike most UGC platforms, the site provides an platform to content owners to use the platform for monetizing the content in a transparent way."

    The online space of the Bollywood industry has picked up in the last few years, even as there are players that would soon complete a decade in the space. Some of the key players include the likes of Ibosnetwork.com, Glamsham.com, Businessofcinema.com, Boxofficeindia.com, Bollywoodhungama.com, Indianfilmtrade.com, Filmtalkies.com and among thousand others.

    According to a CII–AT Kearney Report, the Indian film Industry that was pegged at $ 1.8 billion in 2006 is expected to reach the level of $ 5.1 billion by 2011, with an annual growth rate of 25 per cent. The industry is considered to maintain the same pace for the next four years.

    In India, films have the highest inter linkages with other sub-segments of the media and entertainment industry like music, television and radio. The Indian film industry has the honour of producing maximum number of movies across the world.
