    Emvies 2009: Mindshare bags top honours at media awards

    WPP-owned media agencies sweeped the Ad Club of Bombay's Emvies 2009 media awards, presented on Friday August 21 evening in Mumbai, with Mindshare bagging top honours with a whopping 100 points. Mindshare led the pack with 12 metals with two gold, four silver and six bronze metals.

    WPP's Maxus secured second place with 70 points with two gold, three silver and two bronze. Madison Media Infinity, with 65 points, took home an award for each of its seven nominations- a gold, four silver and two bronze. Lodestar Universal with 55 points, stood fourth with two gold, two silver and a bronze metal.

    The Grand Emvie went to Mudra Max, the media arm of Mudra Group, which also took home two gold and two silver metals. With a total of 30 points, Mediacom came in sixth with three silver metals. WPP's Mediaedge:cia grabbed a silver and a bronze, while Madison Media Plus earned its ten points with a silver metal.

    Tribal DDB India, Mates-Madison Teamwork FP&E, TME and Digital Radio (Mumbai) Broadcasting each claimed a bronze.

    The RAM award for radio innovation went to Maxus. The People's Choice award for best case study presentation went to Lodestar Universal and Mindshare.

    A total of 451 entries were received this year from media agencies nationally, out of which the jury short listed 60. There were 14 award categories, including best media innovations in television, press, radio, direct marketing, etc., best media strategy for consumer products and consumer durables, best media research and best integrated campaign.

    In the best media innovation TV category, Madison Media Infinity has won a silver and a bronze for Cadbury Bournvita - Confidence to Challenge and Tata Tea - Jaago Re Vote Ya Vaat campaigns, respectively. Mindshare has won a bronze for Pond's Age Miracle; while Mediacom has won a silver for Gillette Mach 3 - India Votes To Shave or Not To Shave campaign.

    In the best media innovation print category, Mediaedge:cia has won a bronze for Zee Tamizh for its Wake Up To Tamil campaign; Mindshare has won a silver for Surf - Playground is a classroom without walls series; Lodestar Universal has won a gold for Tata Nano - How We Said It UnCommonly campaign; and Maxus has won a gold for Tanishq Aleya - Magic Mirror campaign.

    In the best media innovation radio category, Maxus has won a bronze for Vodafone - Six held captive on one frequency; TME Team has won a bronze for Parle G - Genius vs Guinness; Maxus has won a silver for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - Midas Touch; and Madison Media Infinity has won a silver for Saffola Life - Listen to your hearth beat.

    In the best media innovation - out of home/ambient media category, Mudra Max has won a silver for Hindustan Times for its Opinion Poll campaign; and Lodestar Universal has won a gold for Tata Nano for its Nano ya Na maano! campaign.

    In the best media innovation - events category, Mindshare has won a bronze and a gold for Virgin Mobile - Live Stunt campaign and Wheel - Touring talkies in Jatra campaign, respectively; and Mudra Max has won a gold for TVS Scooty - Women on Wheels.

    In the best media innovation - cinema category, Mates Madison has won a bronze for Asian Paints Kids World; Mindshare has won a bronze for Sunsilk; Maxus has won a bronze and a gold for Reebok and Tata Sumo Victa, respectively.

    In the best media innovation - direct marketing category, Lodestar Universal has won a silver for Amul Ice Cream for its Amul Ice Cream khao, Star Plus pe Aao contest. Mudra Max has won a gold for Park Avenue Shirts - Iron Man.

    In the best media innovation - digital category, Tribal DDB India has won a bronze for Idea Cellular; Mindshare has won a silver and a gold for Star World - Matt the Mind Reader and Axe - 11/11 campaigns, respectively.

    In the best media research category, Madison Media Infinity has won a bronze and a silver for Cadbury Dairy Milk and Cadbury Perk, respectively. Mediaedge:cia has won a silver for Agency Research - Future gazing into IPL 2.

    In the best integrated campaign category, Mindshare has won a bronze for Surf; Maxus has won a silver IPL - Weapons Of Mass Construction; MediaCom has won a silver for Gillette Mach 3 - India Votes To Shave or Not To Shave campaign; and Madison Media Infinity has won a gold for Tata Tea for its Jaago Re campaign.

    In the best media strategy - media/media property category, Digital Radio has won a bronze for Red FM's Bajaate Raho Awards 2008; Mindshare has won a bronze for Star World for its Matt the Mind Reader campaign; and Lodestar Universal has won a bronze for Radio City - Planet Radio City.

    In the best media strategy - services category, Madison Media Plus has won a silver for BBC World Service Trust for Condom Stay Aloud It campaign; and Mindshare has won a silver for Virgin Mobile India.

    In the best media strategy - consumer durables category, Mudra Max has won a silver for TVS Scooty - Women on Wheels campaign; Maxus has won a silver for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic; and Lodestar Universal has won a silver for Tata Nano - Utilizing the power of Nanovations.

    In the best media strategy - consumer products category, Mindshare has won a bronze for PepsiCo's Nimbooz; Mediacom has won a silver for Gillette Mach 3 - India Votes To Shave or Not To Shave campaign; Mindshare has won a silver for Dove soap - The Ultimate Test; Madison Media Infinity has won a silver for Cadbury Celebrations for its Diwali Pack campaign.
