Televisionpoint.com Correspondent | Mumbai MPG (Media Planning Group) India, the media agency of Havas Group, has made two senior level appointments. Mahima Bhanukumar joins the media agency as South head; while Abhishek Jain joins as investments director in Delhi. Both the executives will be reporting to Anita Nayyar, chief executive officer, MPG India.
Speaking to Televisionpoint.com, Anita Nayyar says, "In today's competitive world, an experienced professional team acts as a great differentiator. In the past few years, we have optimistically worked towards enhancing and upgrading talent at our end and these appointments stand testimony to that."
Prior to MPG, Bhanukumar was associated with Carat Media Services as senior vice-president in Bangalore. She started her advertising career at O&M, Bangalore, where she worked on brands such as Titan and Brook Bond Lipton Beverages of HLL (now HUL).
After six years at O&M she joined JWT (then HTA), Chennai, to handle a large repertoire of clients such as Pond's, Citibank and Parry's Confectionery. She was awarded the JWT International award for media innovation for developing the concept of the Pond's Women's Day. She was also involved in the twin launches of Ford Escort and Ford Ikon, when Ford Motors set up operations in Chennai.
Later, from Chennai, Bhanukumar moved to Mumbai to head Media Vision (a unit of JWT), where she handled accounts such as Bajaj Auto and Parle. She has also worked briefly for Initiative Media, Indonesia, to work on the Unilever business. She then moved to Initiative Media, Taiwan, as joint managing director.
In 2004, when Dentsu Communications' fully operational media division was started at the Bangalore office, Bhanukumar headed the division. She has vast experience in handling most product categories and has also worked with The Media Edge.
On the other hand, Jain was working with Dentsu as media director. He has about 12 years of marketing experience spanning Dentsu, ZenithOptimedia, Cheil Communications and Mudra. He has worked on a variety of clients like Honda, HP, Hyundai, Nestle, Samsung, McDonalds and Mother Dairy. |
